Syrup and liquid sugar filtration
Clear simple and finished syrup, no activated carbon bleed-through and longer cycles.
Quick answer
How is simple syrup filtered?
Usually in pressure filters with a cellulose precoat and perlite body feed. The cellulose precoat keeps activated carbon and filter aid out of the syrup, and the perlite maintains flow throughout the cycle.
What you achieve
- Clear, on-spec syrup.
- Activated carbon retention.
- Longer cycles and fewer stops.
- Lower filter aid consumption per batch.
Experience
We have taken part in starting up batch and continuous syrup filtration systems at bottling plants in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America.
