CREAFILL cellulose

CreaClear filtration cellulose

High-purity, food-grade cellulose for precoat and body feed. Better clarity, longer cycles and clean cake discharge in pressure and vacuum filters.

Quick answer

What is filtration cellulose?

It is a high-purity natural fiber that forms a stable precoat on the filter septum. It polishes the liquid, retains fine particles and keeps filter aid from passing into the product. CreaClear, by CREAFILL, is food grade and is used in sugar, juices, beer, soft drinks, wine and oils.

Why use CreaClear cellulose

  • Inert and non-abrasive. It does not alter the product or wear the equipment.
  • Stable precoat. Secures the precoat and stops filter aid bleed-through.
  • Longer cycles. Fewer stops and lower consumption per batch.
  • Higher clarity. Excellent polishing of the filtrate.
  • Clean discharge. The cake releases completely and is easy to dispose of.
  • Food grade. Natural fiber free of contaminants.

How it is used

As precoat: before filtering, water or product is recirculated with cellulose, alone or combined with FILTRALITE perlite, until a uniform layer forms on the septum.

As body feed: it can also be dosed during filtration when maximum purity and clarity are required.

The right grade and dosage depend on your equipment and product. That is why we define them with a filtration trial.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CreaClear DC150 and DC200?

The number indicates fiber size. DC150 has the finest fiber and forms a tighter precoat for higher clarity; DC200 leaves a more open precoat with more flow.

Does cellulose replace perlite filter aid?

It can be used alone or combined. The most common setup is a cellulose precoat with FILTRALITE perlite as body feed: the cellulose stabilizes the precoat and the perlite provides flow.

Is CreaClear food grade?

Yes. It is high-purity, food-grade cellulose. We send the certificates your quality system requires.

Are there other grades besides DC150 and DC200?

Yes, CREAFILL makes more than ten grades. DC150 and DC200 are the best sellers; we help you choose the right one for your process.

Can I test it before buying?

Yes. We run filtration trials with your product to define grade and dosage.
