FILPROSAFILTRALITE perlite filter aid
Expanded mineral perlite of volcanic origin. Inert, rigid and highly porous: it captures fine solids without slowing the flow.
What is a perlite filter aid?
It is expanded volcanic perlite added to the filter to build a porous, rigid cake. It traps suspended particles, imparts no odor or color to the liquid and, because its particles do not compress, keeps flow high throughout the cycle.

How to choose the grade
- AC, the most used: balance between clarity and flow for most processes.
- CC, tighter: lower permeability for maximum clarity.
- AF, more flow: higher permeability when throughput is the priority.
- FM and ST: intermediate grades to fine-tune the balance in each process.

Which FILTRALITE grade sells the most?

Perlite or diatomaceous earth?
Both work as filter aids. Perlite has a lower density, so fewer kilos build the same cake volume. We recommend the material based on your product and equipment.
What does Darcy mean?
It is the unit of permeability. More Darcies means more flow; fewer Darcies means finer particles and higher clarity.
Does it work in rotary vacuum filters?
Yes. FILTRALITE grades are used in pressure and vacuum filters; CC is intended mainly for pressure filters.
